Town Clerk/Treasurer

The Clerk/Treasurer serves as the link between Council and citizens as well as between the Manager and employees.

The Office of Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Broadus provides clerical, record keeping and administrative functions to the Council and the Manager. In addition, this individual performs many tasks that assist in guiding and managing the operation of local government policy and law. Below are just a few of the many responsibilities of the Town of Broadus Clerk/Treasurer.

  • Administer all financial and accounting functions including taxes, assessments, bonds, investments, utility billing, etc
  • To receive all moneys that come to the town 
  • Grants street closures
  • Manages requests to speak to Council
  • Collects information and prepares Council agendas and other information for Council
  • Collects, organizes, and maintains records
  • Records and submits Council meeting minutes
  • Grant application, funding management and records maintenance
  • Annual budgets and financial reporting
  • Keep a register of all warrants paid, maintain a complete set of accounts, prepare journal entries for adjustments, transfers, or corrections
  • Verify, analyze, and reconcile accounts and bank statements
  • Process the town's payroll including documenting employee status changes, verifying deductions, benefits, etc. REsponsible for all necessary monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. 
  • Maintain, file, index, and preserve official town records
